Newly Enlarged Audiology Facilities & "Service Center"
The Hearing Center at Eye Health Vision Centers has recently completed expansion of its 2,500 square foot Audiology facilities to better serve its customer base.  The enlarged facilities now include a "Service Center" where trained technicians will troubleshoot hearing aid problems.  The Hearing Center's Audiology technicians have received special factory authorized training from the various hearing aid manufacturers so that hearing aid repairs are performed on site at their Route 6, Dartmouth facility.  Approximately 50% of hearing aid repairs can now be done on site while the patient waits, in order to avoid the weeks of time which must pass when repairs are mailed out to the manufacturer.  The Hearing Center recommends an extended warranty to avoid costly repair charges over the life of the aid.  Our patients receive all follow up visits at no charge.  Nominal charges apply to patients requesting repairs on aids purchased from other hearing centers.  If having trouble with an aid, The Hearing Center has walk-in hours from 10:30 am to 2:00 pm Monday through Friday in its Dartmouth office, 9-5 in its Taunton office and 9-3 in its Middletown office. One of The Hearing Center's trained technicians can check your hearing aid and determine if the problem is something that can be repaired on site or whether it requires factory service.  If it has to be sent to the manufacturer and the hearing aid is covered under warranty, there is no cost for the repair.

Free Hearing Screenings and "OAE" Testing

The Hearing Center offers FREE Hearing Screenings on an unscheduled "walk in" basis to any new or existing patients.  These Free Screenings are performed by Audiology Technicians and include:

  • Case History
  • Subjective Questionnaire
  • Video-otoscopy
  • Pure Tone Audiometric Screening
  • Appropriate referrals for follow-up

Additionally, the Hearing Center is now equipped to perform testing of otoacoustic emissions, also known as "OAE" Tests.  This instrument automatically measures hearing loss by measuring the amount of sound emitted from the patient's eardrum in response to audible sounds emitted from the testing instrument itself.  It is a very quick and painless objective measurement procedure which determines if a patient is experiencing hearing loss.  The test takes only 45 seconds per ear and is conducted at The Hearing Center with a small, hand held instrument.  Most patient's insurance includes this test as a covered benefit.

The Hearing Center has 3 office locations with phone numbers for appointments and scheduled "Walk In Hours" for hearing aid repairs as follows:
